About RT
Known as "Rt" or "the guy that rode his bike around town", or affectionately
as the "Bird Man". He acquired many friends while living in Ellijay.
His main form of transportation was his bike that was also an artistic creation.
Born September 15, 1935 to Tom and Lou Ella Cochran Henson, in Gilmer
county in the home of Mr. and Mrs. McGaughey. RT passed away on
November 10, 2007
He was not only an artist in his own right but an inventor and mechanical engineer.
RT served in the US Army in the 1950's as a switchboard operator while stationed
in Germany. He was a honorably discharged veteran.
Returning home he began work at the G&C Spread Mill in Ellijay and later worked
and retired at J&C Universal Carpet Mill.
RT never married but lovingly cared for his mother until her passing in 1975.
He was a member of the Ellijay Church Of Christ.
He began building his home in Ellijay himself in the mid 60's.
Please enjoy your visit to RT's website and watch for more upcoming showings of
RT's creations in the future.
We would like to thank all of the great people that have helped make this project
possible and a special thanks to all that have visited in honor and celebration of RT's life.
